wpstatic.sh did not run correctly the first time, and did not create the wordpress-static directory. Ran it again with -a and it worked/created the directory.

You have an error in the wordpress code which causes the header image (wp-content/themes/twentyseventeen/assets/images/header.jpg.html) to be a broken image link. It looks for a file name that is actually uploaded to S3 as "header.jpg" instead of "header.jpg.html". Once changed to "header.jpg.html" in the bucket, the static page loads the image correctly, even after a few new syncs. Cheers
